“Chaos was, in the beginning, complete darkness. But when light was born, colored chaos was born. First nature, and then man took charge, from the first day, of transforming the divine order of things into the magnificent disorder of the jungles, the seas, the sunsets and the storms. Also of cities and of the incalculable asymmetries of human animal behavior.

When abstract art was born, the untransmissible personal chaos was born: in other words, the individual vision, of each artist, of the possible transfigurations of form and color, which are infinite.

The personal chaos of Armando Meléndez are, like those of other painters, not those that he pours into his canvases, but those that he finds in them, thanks to a search that sometimes seems endless.

To this is added a mystery: in his paintings, there are often glimpses of thick veils that seem to hide something from us. Perhaps they also hide it from the author himself. But the important thing is that these territories of the imagination, configure as a whole fantastic landscape, full of colorful, sometimes dazzling, sometimes somber, destined to awaken in the contemplator, joy or bewilderment. But never indifference.

Installations, performances, video art: welcome to all these manifestations of art that diversify their forms of expression. But also welcome are all those painters who yesterday, today and always, will continue to overflow their passions in paintings to hang on walls and walls, and thus open in them windows to new and surprising worlds.

“El caos fue, en un principio, la oscuridad completa. Pero cuando nació la luz, nacieron los caos de colores. Primero la naturaleza, y después el hombre se encargaron, desde el primer día, de transformar el orden divino de las cosas en el magnífico desorden de las selvas, los mares, los ocasos y las tempestades. También de las ciudades y de las incalculables asimetrías del comportamiento humano animal.

Cuando nació el arte abstracto, nacieron los caos personales intransmisibles: en otras palabras, la visión individual, de cada artísta, de las transfiguraciones posibles de la forma y el color, que son infinitas.

Los caos personales de Armando Meléndez son, como los de otros pintores, no los que vuelca en los lienzos, sino los que encuentra en ellos, gracias a una búsqueda que a veces se antoja interminable.

A esto se agrega un misterio: se vislumbran, con frecuencia, en sus pinturas, algunos espesos velos que parecen ocultarnos algo. Quizás también se lo ocultan al propio autor. Pero lo importante es que estos territorios de la imaginación, configuran en su conjunto paisajes fantásticos, llenos de un colorido a veces fulgurante, a veces sombrío, destinados a despertar en el contemplador, la alegría o el desconcierto. Pero nunca la indiferencia.

Las instalaciones, los performances, el videoarte: bienvenidas sean todas estas manifestaciones del arte que diversifican sus formas de expresión. Pero bienvenidos sean, también, todos aquellos pintores que ayer, hoy y siempre, seguirán desbordando sus pasiones en cuadros para colgar en paredes y muros, y así abrir en ellos ventanas a mundos nuevos y sorprendentes.
