JUAN ZUFIAUR CV
Artist and sculptor born in Vitoria in 1968.
His artistic studies started in the Alava capital expanded in the Faculties of Fine Arts of Granada and Valencia.
In 1922, studying in Granada, he participated in this city in an exhibition against the celebration of the V centenary of the discovery of America. Since the its creation well be closely linked to Mexico. Claim the work of Mexican muralists linked to the revolution as Rivera, Siqueiros or Orozco. He is awarded a scholarship by the embassy of that country to study the murals that José Clemente Orozco made in the chapel of Hospicio Cabañas, in Guadalajara.
In his work, he captures what he observers in his tour throughout the country, allowing himself to be influenced by local artists and showing his passion for his art. In 1999 he exhibited his work in the Sala Araba of Caja Vital de Vitoria in the exhibition entitled México, the kingdom of color, exhibiting again in his hometown in 2002.
In the year 2000 the sculpture La merienda, a bronze of four meters high, was installed in the Casa de Cultura de Araia, together with works by artists such as Zumeta, Basterretxea or Zuazo. Other places he has exhibithed are Granada (1998, 1999), Madrid (2000), Vigo (2000-2003), Guadalajara (México, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006), Brazil (2002), Granada (2004), Oaxaca ( México,2005).
